With the island's literary heritage, it is no surprise that there are many cultured forms of entertainment in Key West. The Red Barn and Tennessee Williams theaters provide regular performances, while live music can be heard at a number of venues across the island, including performances by the renowned Key West Symphony Orchestra.

Cinemas can be found offering the latest flicks, while lively evening entertainment can be found at Bahama Village, Duval street and Mallory Square. Each of these places has restaurants, cafés and a range of bars, many with great waterfront views and a laid-back Florida atmosphere.

The island is not big on nightclubs, with residents preferring relaxed bars with live music; however, a few late night venues offering dance music can be found.
