Key West stands in Monroe County, in the state of Florida. With a population of around 26,000 people, Key West is home to the southernmost locations of the Key West group, standing close to Cuba. Featuring coastlines alongside both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, the clear waters surrounding Key West offer an array of colorful sea life, together with a good selection of water sports.

Key West Orientation: Layout and Directions



Old Town Key West is one of the most significant areas of the island, encompassing both the Bahama Village and Duval Street. Key West's Old Town district contains a good selection of shopping opportunities and places to eat, while the easterly New Town area comprises many popular resorts, accommodation options and amenities.

Standing on the northern coast of the island are many superb attractions, which include both Mallory Square and the popular Key West Aquarium, with the noteworthy Mel Fisher Museum also being situated nearby. The southern side of Key West features both the City Beach and Higgs Beach, together with the island's acclaimed Fort Zachary Taylor Historic Site.
